Zumba Cancelled
Due to the winter storm, Zumba has been cancelled for tonight, Wednesday, February 1st.
Parish Council Installation
A Parish Council Installation ceremony will take place at our two weekend Masses, this Saturday and Sunday, February 4th and 5th, for all members of our new Parish Council elected last year.
First Friday Holy Hour And Mass
The monthly First Friday Holy Hour will take place at St. Joachim’s on Friday, February 3rd from 11am – 12:30pm. The Holy Hour begins at 11am and will consist of exposition, adoration, and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament; concluding with 12 noon Mass.
Feast Of Saint Blase
Blessing of throats in honor of St. Blase will take place at St. Joachim’s on Friday, February 3rd, at the noon Mass.
Catechist Meeting
This Wednesday, February 1st, at 7pm, there will be a special meeting for all parish religious education catechists in the large upstairs classroom, between the church vestry and the parish office. Please use the parish office entrance.
Next Parish Council Meeting
Our monthly Parish Council meeting is this Thursday, February 2nd at 7pm in the large classroom between the church vestry and the parish office. Use the parish office entrance.
Please note: Parish Council meetings are open to all parishioners who wish to attend as observers. If any parishioner would like to speak at a monthly meeting, or have an item placed on the agenda, please speak to the Chairperson, Robert Taylor, or contact the parish office (office@saintjoachims.com or 653-6852), ahead of time.
Adult Religious Education – Week 3
Adult Catechesis will be held in the St. Joachim’s Parish Centre on Thursday, January 26th, at 7pm. This week “The Reliability of Catholic Teaching” is Week 3 of 19 weeks.
It is not necessary to have attended any of the previous weeks in order to participate. So, everyone is invited to come and learn more about our Catholic Church teaching and the reliability of Catholic truth as the sacred deposit of faith entrusted to us by Jesus Christ. Food Bank
Parishioners are encouraged to bring in their donations to the Food Bank any weekend of the month. Both non-perishable food items and monetary donations are greatly appreciated. Monetary donations can be placed in an envelope marked “Food Bank” and dropped it in the collection.
Adoration
All are welcome to Adoration this Sunday, January 22nd, from 1 – 2pm; and again next Sunday, January 29th, 2- 4pm at St. Joachim’s.
Mass Cancellation
Noon Mass on Wednesday, January 18th has been cancelled due to a funeral at Holy Trinity.
