New Locks On Monday, June 3
As of Monday, June 3rd, new locks will be installed at St. Joachim’s. Because we are obliged to follow Insurance Company and Diocesan regulations, only those people who have made arrangements with Father Peter to receive a key, and have also presented us with an up to date police background check, will be eligible to receive a key. Those who have completed these two requirements are asked to pick up their key at the St. Joachim’s parish office between the hours of 1:30pm – 5pm, Monday – Friday. If it is more convenient, feel free to contact the office (653-6852 or office@saintjoachims.com) to make arrangements to pick up your key at Holy Trinity. When picking up your key, you will be required to sign an agreement outlining the conditions upon which the key is being issued to you.
First Friday Holy Hour And Mass
The monthly First Friday Holy Hour will take place at St. Joachim’s on Friday, June 7th from 11am – 12:30pm. The Holy Hour begins at 11am and will consist of exposition, adoration, and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament; concluding with 12 noon Mass.
Father’s Day
The tribute page in our bulletin has been a popular way that Parishioners choose to remember and honor their Fathers. Simply print his name on an envelope and “In Memory of” if he is deceased or “In Honor of” if he is still living. Please also write “Father’s Day” somewhere on the envelope. You may also choose to place a donation for the Debt Fund in the same envelope but this is not required. Please place it in the collection no later than Sunday, June 9th.
Adoration
Adoration will be held on Sunday, June 9th, 2 – 4pm. All are welcome.
Mass Cancellation
Noon Mass today, Friday, May 24th has been cancelled due to illness. The intention, for Leonard Glazier, has been rescheduled for Friday, June 7th.
Ministry Workshop
We will be holding an Extraordinary Ministers of Communion (Eucharistic Ministers) Workshop for all present Eucharistic Ministers and for anyone who would like to become involved in that ministry, at St. Joachim’s on Saturday, May 25th at 10:30am. All present Eucharistic Ministers are asked to attend.
Parish Council Election
The St. Joachim’s Parish Pastoral Council Election, scheduled for next weekend, is being cancelled as a result of receiving only 4 nominations of the 9 parishioners we need to serve our community of faith on the parish council. So, for the foreseeable future, we will have to proceed, as best we can, without a parish council in deciding and implementing what is best for our parish.
Finance Meeting
The next meeting of the Finance Committee, scheduled for Tuesday, May 21st, will be cancelled due to the Confirmation celebration that evening with Bishop Harris.
50/50
Congratulations to Chris, who won $560 as the latest winner of our 50/50 draw. This was our last draw before the summer.
First Communion
Congratulations to the 17 children in our Religious Education program who will be receiving their First Communion this Sunday at the 11am Mass. All parishioners are invited to join us for a reception after Mass in the parish hall.
