Parish Mission

We want to remind you that the Parish Mission begins today, Tuesday, March 20th at Saint Joachim’s. Fr. George Gilliland will be celebrating Mass today, Wednesday and Thursday at noon, and giving his main talk each evening at 7pm. Everyone is welcome.

Irish Kitchen Party Reminder

Don’t forget about the Saint Joachim’s Parish Council’s Irish Kitchen Party, on Saturday, March 17th from 8pm – midnight in the Parish Hall. The evening will feature music and light refreshments. Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door, and are available by calling 696-7954. Come and be Irish for the night!

Adult Catechesis – Week 8

Our next class is tonight, Thursday, March 1st, 7pm, in the parish hall. The topic will be “The Virgin Mary”. It is not necessary to have attended any of the previous weeks in order to participate. Flea Market

The Restoration Committee will be holding a Flea Market on April 28th. Clean out your house and donate good, clean, working items including books, jewelry, furniture and toys to your parish flea market. You can drop off items in the Parish Hall at the following times: Monday – Thursday from 8am – 4pm, or Friday between 5 – 10pm. We are unable to accept stuffed toys or clothing.

New Year’s Day Levee Invitation

Parishioners from Holy Trinity and St. Joachim’s are invited to join Father Peter once again this year for a New Year’s Day Levee on Sunday, January 1st from 1pm – 3pm at our parish house at 21 Canon Street. As we begin a new year, it is a wonderful opportunity for us to get together as parishioners, and meet some of our brothers and sisters from our twinned parish. Home-made clam chowder, hors d’oeuvres, other delicious treats and light refreshments will be served. I look forward to seeing you at our Rectory. – Father Peter.

Bingo

The K of C will be holding a special Bingo on Sunday, January 8th. All proceeds will go towards St. Joachim’s debt. Pre-sold tickets are $20. Doors open at 12:45pm. Early Bird games begin at 1:30pm. Regular games start at 2:30pm. Games 1 to 9 – 1st chance $100, 2nd chance $25. Game 10 Jackpot is $1,000. Early Bird and specials sold separately. For tickets, call Marie (696-8169), Conrad (696-5478) or any Knight. Bingo tickets make great stocking stuffers!

Christmas Concert

Come celebrate Christmas with Saint Mary’s Band on December 11th, 7pm at Saint Joachim’s. Enjoy a variety of Christmas music with Saint John’s oldest concert band. You will be treated to some old favorites, some new festive carols, and a sing-a-long or two. Admission is free will offering. Come support your community band!

Christmas Basket Zumba

On Wednesday, December 7th, 7pm, all proceeds from our Zumba class will be going towards our Christmas Basket program. If you haven’t tried Zumba yet, this is your chance! Admission is our usual $5. Come out for a night of fun and support a great cause!

Evening Of Music

The Restoration Committee is hosting an Evening of Music on Saturday, December 3rd from 7pm – 9:30pm in the church hall. Entertainment includes Six Days From Sunday, Danny Joyce and the Park Avenue Fiddlers, among others. Light refreshments will be served. Good will offering.
