Information
Hospital Volunteers
Parishioners who volunteer at the hospital will no doubt be aware that Saint John hospitals now require volunteers to obtain a background check in order to renew their hospital identification. Many parishioners also had background checks done for the Diocese of Saint John’s Responsible Ministry Program. The Hospital Authority has informed the Diocese that they are willing to accept the background checks done for the Diocese, rather than make hospital volunteers go for another check. If you volunteer at the hospital in our lay ministry program, please contact the office with your name and the exact expiration date of your hospital ID. The Diocese will keep this information on file and have the necessary paperwork ready for you at the time of your ID renewal.
Tax Receipts
Tax Receipts for 2011 were mailed out in the last few days, so all parishioners should receive them during the coming week. If you notice any errors on your receipt, please contact the office.
Storm Cancellations
In the event of a winter storm, please check the front page of our website or our Twitter page for any cancellations of parish activities.
Financial Report
Our annual Financial Report was included with this past weekend’s bulletin, and is also available here. This year we distributed a more compact version of the report. The full, detailed version of the report is posted in the foyer of the church, or you may contact the office (office@saintjoachims.com or 653-6852) for a copy.
Adult Religious Education – Week 4
On Thursday, February 2nd, at 7pm, Fr. Stephen will present “Scripture is Catholic”, week 4 of 19 weeks.
It is not necessary to have attended any of the previous weeks in order to participate. So, everyone is invited to come and learn more about our Catholic Church teaching and the reliability of Catholic truth as the sacred deposit of faith entrusted to us by Jesus Christ. More information, and course handout can be found on the Religious Education page.
Are You New To The Parish?
Welcome! If you would like to sign up for our convenient Pre-Authorized Debit donation system, applications are available in the foyer, or here on our website. If you would prefer to start using Sunday Envelopes, those are also some available in the foyer of the church. They’ve got bright green labels on them, so they are easy to spot.
PAD Parishioners
We just want to take the opportunity to remind those who have switched to PAD within the last year that there are envelopes available for the Debt Collection and the various special collections throughout the year. If you want a package of envelopes, they are available in the foyer with the rest of the Sunday Envelopes.
Office Hours
Effective immediately, the parish office is open Monday – Friday, 1:30pm – 5pm.
Sunday Envelopes
Our 2012 Sunday Envelopes are now available. We ask that you please take a look to make sure that your address is correct on the label, as that is the same address we will be using to mail out your tax receipts in January. We have made changes to a small number of the envelope numbers (mostly higher ones), meaning some parishioners will not have the same envelope number in 2012 as they do this year. These changes will not take effect until January, so please continue to use your current envelopes and envelope number until the end of the year.
