We are looking for some teachers for our Religious Education program beginning in the fall. If you would be willing to contribute to the education of the youth of our parish every Sunday morning, please contact Fr. Stephen. Religious Education Coordinator(s)
We are looking for one or two individuals to coordinate our Religious Education program beginning in the fall, preferably individuals who have some Religious Education or teaching background, and who enjoy working with children. If you believe that you could aid in the education of the youth of our parish, please contact Fr. Stephen for more information on what this important position involves. Feel free to speak to him before or after Mass, or call his direct line (653-6842).
Adoration
Adoration will be held this month on Sunday, July 15th and Sunday, July 22nd from 2 – 4pm. There will be no Adoration on Sunday, July 29th.
Flea Market
There will be a Flea Market held in the Saint Joachim’s Parish Center on Saturday, August 18th, from 8am – 1pm. Table Rentals are $10 each. For more information, or to reserve a table, call Toby (696-1905).
Mass Cancellation
Reminder – there will be no weekday Masses for the first two weeks of July.
Religious Education
We are required to have baptism certificates on file for ALL Religious Education students (both new and returning) in the fall. If your child will be attending our Religious Education program this year, and you did not provide us with a baptism certificate last year, we ask that you do one of the following:
1. If your child was baptized here at Saint Joachim’s, please call the office (653-6852) and leave your child’s name and date of birth on our voice mail. You can also email (office@saintjoachims.com) the same information.
2. If your child was baptized in another parish, please contact that church directly and ask them to fax (653-6848) or email (office@saintjoachims.com) your child’s baptism certificate to us.
We would like to thank parents in advance for their assistance in helping to make the jobs of our Religious Education teachers a little easier.
Zumba
Monday night Zumba class on July 2nd has been cancelled next week due to the long weekend. Zumba resumes on Wednesday, July 4th at 7pm.
Mass Cancellation
There will be no weekday Masses during the first two weeks of July.
Volunteers Needed
Each week a team of six volunteers from area churches prepare and serve a free meal to approximately 30 needy members of our community at St. Mary & St. Bartholomew’s Church on Westmorland Road as a part of the Saturday Night Supper program. The churches take turns, and St. Joachim’s is responsible for the meal approximately once every six weeks. The current team from St. Joachim’s has been working in this ministry for several years and feels it is time for some new blood to carry on this important work. If you feel that you could contribute one Saturday evening every six weeks to help feed the less fortunate of our area, many of them children, please contact Paula Coleman (696-4331).
