Thank You

On this, their final weekend with us, we would like to take the opportunity to thank all of the musicians who have been a part of our Saturday Evening Music Ministry for the past 12 years. Their contributions have been greatly appreciated by our parish and we wish them all the best as enjoy some much-deserved time off.

The Book Of Remembrance

The book will be located at the front of the Church beginning on Wednesday, November 2nd. You are invited to write in the names of your relatives and friends who have died. Your loved ones will be remembered by our Parish during the month of November.

First Friday Holy Hour

The monthly First Friday Holy Hour will take place at St. Joachim’s on Friday, November 4th from 11am – 12:30pm. The Holy Hour begins at 11am and will consist of exposition, adoration, and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament; concluding with 12 noon Mass.

Christmas Basket Collection

On the weekend on November 12th & 13th we will be taking up a special collection to help support the annual Christmas basket program. Envelopes for the special collection will be attached to the bulletin next weekend, and will also be available at the entrance of the church.

You are also more than welcome to make a donation to this extremely worthwhile cause at any time between now and Christmas. Simply write “Christmas Baskets” on an envelope and drop it in the collection.

Christmas Baskets

Registration for Christmas Baskets and The Empty Stocking Fund will begin on November 15th and take place every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 10am – 12pm in the parish hall. Please bring Medicare cards for every member of your household, as well as a piece of identification with your current address. If you have a social assistance card, that would also be helpful. The deadline for Empty Stocking Fund applications is November 24th.

Online Donations

We have partnered with CanadaHelps.org to enable us to receive donations through our website. CanadaHelps.org is a completely secure website used by thousands of charities across the country, including the Saint John Regional Hospital’s “The Give” campaign.

Clicking on the CanadaHelps button on the right side of our website will allow you to make a donation towards our Debt Fund or Christmas Baskets using your credit card. The site also gives individuals the opportunity to make their donation in memory, or in honour, of a loved one. Tax receipts are immediately emailed to donors; and the donation is deposited electronically in our bank account. Should you be making a donation in memory of someone, you can send that person’s family members a Card via email, or make a request for the parish to mail one on your behalf.

Coffee Social

The Coffee Social held last month was such a success that the Parish Council and Knights of Columbus have decided to make it a monthly event. They will be providing coffee and Timbits after both Masses on November 5th & 6th in the foyer of the church. Everyone is welcome.
