Papal Blessings
Many people order Papal Blessing Scrolls for loved ones for important life events – wedding anniversaries, birthdays, etc. We have just been informed that the Vatican has modified the procedures for ordering a scroll. The cost of a scroll is now $75, and you should now order scrolls a minimum of 12 weeks before it is needed. For further information, or to order a scroll, please contact the parish office.
Hall Rentals
If you are planning an event, and considering renting our hall, we encourage you to book well in advance to avoid disappointment. The full schedule for all activities going on in of Parish Hall through the end of next year is available here on our website (saintjoachims.com/hall). We rent our hall for parties, showers, receptions and we are also able to accommodate licensed functions. For more information on hall rentals, call Marie (696-8169).
New Catechism Time
Since our Sunday Morning Mass is now at 11:00am, the Religious Education program will now be from 10:30am – 11:30am and then conclude with all of the students joining our faith community for the conclusion of our Sunday Morning Mass.
Mass Intentions
We are now accepting Mass Intentions for the rest of 2012 and the first half of 2013. Call (653-6852) or email the office to schedule a Mass. There is no need to actually drop by the office – you can make all of the arrangements over the phone or by email and then drop your Mass offering in the collection. Drives To Weekend Masses
We have several parishioners who find it difficult getting to church on the weekend. We suspect that in many cases, other parishioners would be only too happy to give them a drive if they only realized that there was a need. We would like to propose the following: If you are in need of transportation to Mass, or you are willing to give someone a drive, please contact the office (653-6852). We’ll try to help connect people who are willing to provide drives to those who require them. At the moment, we have a parishioner on the Nason Road who is in need of transportation on the weekends. Thank you.
Mass Cancellation
Reminder – there will be no weekday Masses for the first two weeks of July.
K of C Seniors’ Complex
The dates for a series of public information sessions for those interested in renting a unit in the new Father Eugene O’Leary Seniors Complex that is being built across from Home Hardware on Loch Lomond Road will be as follows:
Monday, June 25th, 1pm & 3pm
Thursday, June 28th, 7pm
All sessions will be held in the Saint Joachim’s Parish Center. These sessions are by invitation only, and those who have added their name to the waiting list will receive a call from the Knights. Visit the Columbian Charities website for more details on the complex.
Parish Center Doors
We have just added a new plastic “Today’s Event” sign to the exterior doors of the parish Center, and we would ask that if you are need to put a sign on the door, please tape it to our new sign. Tape only please – the sign is NOT a dry-erase board, so please DO NOT use markers, tacks, or staples. Thank you for your help.
