K Of C Mass Of Remembering
On Wednesday, November 16th, a special Mass will be held honouring all deceased members of K of C 8364 council. Mass will be at 7pm with a Rose Presentation Ceremony. Families, friends and all parishioners are cordially invited. All participants are asked to arrive by 6:45pm.
Flea Market
The K of C Squires will be holding a Flea Market and Barbeque on Saturday, May 28th, 8am – 1pm at St. Joachim’s. Proceeds are going to assist Squires members attending the Steubenville youth conference.
K of C Bursary
Applications for the K of C Bursary, valued at $500, are now available. Applicants must be members of St. Joachim’s, graduating in June, and be attending university/college in the fall. Applications are available in the parish office or by contacting Bryan Murphy (639-7946). Deadline is May 31st.
K of C Seniors’ Dinner
K of C 8364 will be holding their annual free Seniors Dinner on Monday, November 11th. Doors open at noon; dinner begins at 1pm; sing along after dinner. Sign-up sheets are available in foyer. Please note: Seating is limited, so you must sign-up in order to attend.
K of C Memorial Mass
A Mass for Deceased Knights of Council 8364 will be held on Sunday, November 3rd, 11am at St. Joachim’s. This year’s ceremony will include a presentation of a Rose on behalf of the deceased by a family member or representative. All involved should be present at Mass at least 15 minutes prior to 11am.
Food Drive
K of C 8364 will be holding a food drive for the Saint John East Food Bank on Sunday, October 27th, from noon – to 5pm at the Rothesay Avenue Superstore. All parishioners are encouraged to drop by and support this worthy cause. For more information, call James (653-7302).
Casino Fundraiser
K of C 8364 will be hosting a fundraiser to help support St. Joachim’s parishioner / Council 8364 member Kevin Marsden’s financial issues in dealing with Huntington’s Disease. Casino is on Saturday, October 5th, 7pm (doors open at 6:30pm), in the parish hall. Tickets are $30/person and are available from any member of K of C Council 8364.
Thursday Night Bingo Setup
We wish to ask Knights of Columbus members who prefer to set up for Bingo on Thursday evening to please check with the office in advance to ensure that there are no activities going on in the hall that evening, or during the day on Friday. We thank you in advance for your help.
K of C Anniversary Dance
K of C 8364 will be celebrating their 30th Anniversary with a dinner and dance in the St. Joachim’s Parish Center on Saturday, June 22nd. The dance will be open to the public; doors will open at 9pm. Tickets are $5, and can be purchased from Conrad Haney (696-5478), Harold Richardson (696-7954) or Peter Flewelling (634-8989).
