
Irish Kitchen Party Reminder
Don’t forget about the Saint Joachim’s Parish Council’s Irish Kitchen Party, on Saturday, March 17th from 8pm – midnight in the Parish Hall. The evening will feature music and light refreshments. Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door, and are available by calling 696-7954. Come and be Irish for the night!
Notice For Pre-Authorized Debit Contributors
For those who are Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) contributors, there are new green laminated deposit cards on the wall above the bulletins and New Freemans in the foyer. These are available for you to place in the weekend collection each week, indicating that you are participating in the program. Please do not take these cards home with you, but simply pick one up when you arrive each week, and when the collection is counted after each Mass they will be returned to the foyer for you.
Adult Catechesis – Week 10
Don’t forget our next class is tonight, Thursday, March 15th, 7pm, in the parish hall. The topic will be “The Papacy and the Church”. It is not necessary to have attended any of the previous weeks in order to participate. Job Opening
The Saint John Diocesan Cemeteries has an immediate opening for a Cemetery Crew Member. Job description and application instructions are available here. Application deadline is March 9th.
Religious Education
Due to the March Break, there will be no Religious Education classes, next weekend, March 11th. Classes for most students resume on March 18th. Please note that there will be no Confirmation class on March 18th.
Tax Receipts
Tax receipts for 2011 were mailed out to all parishioners several weeks ago. If yours still has not arrived, please contact the office (office@saintjoachims.com or 653-6852).

St. Joachim’s Parish Mission
A St. Joachim’s Parish Mission in preparation for Holy Week will take place Tuesday, March 20th – Thursday, March 22nd. The Mission priest, Father George Gilliland from Prince Edward Island, will preside at noon Mass on those 3 days with a special homily followed by the main mission talk at 7pm each evening. Mark your calendar now so that you won’t miss out on this parish mission.
Lenten Community Penitential Service
In preparation for Easter, the three North End parishes of Holy Trinity, St. Pius X, and St. Peter’s are coming together for a Lenten Penitential Service at St. Pius X Church on Sunday, March 18th at 2pm. Other priests will also be present and the community penitential service will conclude with individual confessions. Anyone from St. Joachim’s Parish is welcome to join us for the celebration of this Sacrament.
