Mass For Special Intentions
Father Paul LeBlanc will be celebrating a Mass with the Crown of Glory Prayer Group, and anyone who would like to attend, at St. Joachim’s on Tuesday, October 9th, 7pm, for everyone’s Special Intentions. There will be time after Mass for those seeking personal prayer.
Spaghetti Dinner
The Parish Council is hosting a “Welcome Back” free Spaghetti Dinner for all St. Joachim’s parishioners on Saturday, September 22nd after the 4pm Mass. Come and enjoy a meal with your parish community.
Mass Change
There will be no noon Mass today, Friday, September 14th.
Papal Blessings
Many people order Papal Blessing Scrolls for loved ones for important life events – wedding anniversaries, birthdays, etc. We have just been informed that the Vatican has modified the procedures for ordering a scroll. The cost of a scroll is now $75, and you should now order scrolls a minimum of 12 weeks before it is needed. For further information, or to order a scroll, please contact the parish office.
Knights Of Columbus
This month’s K of C meetings will be held on Wednesday, September 12th & Wednesday, September 26th, 7:30pm, in the Knight’s Quarters.
First Friday Holy Hour And Mass
The monthly First Friday Holy Hour will take place at St. Joachim’s tomorrow, Friday, September 7th from 11am – 12:30pm. The Holy Hour begins at 11am and will consist of exposition, adoration, and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament; concluding with 12 noon Mass.
Coffee Social
The Parish Council and Knights of Columbus will be providing coffee and Timbits after both Masses the weekend of September 8th & 9th in the foyer of the church. Everyone is welcome.
Video Library
We would like to create a small video resource library for the use of our children’s Religious Education program. We are asking parishioners for their assistance in stocking this library with religious movies or educational titles. If you have any VHS tapes or DVDs that you could either donate or loan to this project, it would be very helpful. Our Religious Education program would also gratefully accept monetary donations so that they can purchase certain titles. Special Collection For Africa
On September 15/16, there will be a special collection taken up for Africa, which continues to suffer through the worst drought in 60 years. Donations will be forwarded to the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), which has an organization in place that will ensure that your donations will get to those in need. The Government of Canada has pledged to match all monies raised through this collection. Special envelopes for this collection are available in the foyer.
Parish Council Meeting
The next Parish Council meeting will be on Thursday, September 6th, 7pm, in the large classroom between the church vestry and the parish office. Use the parish office entrance.
Parish Council meetings are open to all parishioners who wish to attend as observers. If any parishioner would like to speak at a monthly meeting, or have an item placed on the agenda, please speak to the Chairperson, Robert Taylor, or contact the parish office (office@saintjoachims.com or 653-6852), ahead of time.
